Organizing items with folders

Folder are a useful way to organize the items you save in Password Boss.

Warning:

Deleting a folder also deletes all of the items in the folder.

Making folders

  1. Open Password Boss.
  2. Click Settings from the left menu.
  3. Click on the Folders tab.
  4. Click the Add new folder button.
  5. Enter in a name for the folder. To make a subfolder, select the parent folder from Create under existing folder.
  6. Click Save when you are done.
  1. Open Password Boss.
  2. From the bottom menu tap More ios_more_button.png 
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap General.
  5. Tap Manage Folders.
  6. Tap on the green circle  add_item_green_solid.png  to make a new folder.
  7. Enter in a name for the folder. To make a subfolder, select the parent folder from Create under existing folder.
  8. Tap Save when you are done.

  2. From the top left tap the menu icon android_menu_icon.png
  3. Tap Settings from the left menu.
  4. Tap Manage Folders.
  5. Tap on the orange circle add_item.png to add a new folder.
  6. Enter in a name for the folder. To make a subfolder, select the parent folder from Create under existing folder.
  7. Tap Save when you are done.

Editing Folders

You can edit a folder to change the folder name or to change the parent folder.

  1. Open Password Boss.
  2. Click Settings from the left menu.
  3. Click on the Folders tab.
  4. Double-click the folder you want to edit.
  5. Make your changes.
  6. Click Save when you are done.

  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap General.
  5. Tap Manage Folders.
  6. Tap on the folder you want to edit.
  7. Make your changes.
  8. Tap Save when you are done.

  2. From the top left tap the menu icon android_menu_icon.png
  3. Tap Settings from the left menu.
  4. Tap Manage Folders.
  5. Tap on the folder you want to edit.
  6. Make your changes.
  7. Tap Save when you are done.
Desktop Tip:

From the Folder tab you can drag and drop folders to change how your folders are organized.

Adding items to folders

  • When you are saving new items select the folder you want to save your item in.
  • You can edit any item already saved and select the folder you want to move an item into as well.

Advanced folder features

The desktop version adds several additional Folder features.

Use the folder picker on the left menu to show all folders.

Selecting a folder from the folder picker acts as a filter when you are looking at your saved items.  you will only see the items located in the folder you have selected.

When a folder is selected you will also see a Show all button. clicking this button will remove the filter and show you item from all folders.

 Drag and drop - desktop only

You can drag and drop items between folder to organize the items.

  1. Open the folder picker on the left and expand the list of folders.
  2. Click the pin icon.
  3. Drag items from the right side of the screen and drop them on the destination folder in the folder picker.
  4. When done click the pin icon to un-pin the folder list.
